The successful incumbent would lead a team of technical professionals and would be responsible for efficient delivery of critical programs and services related to owned IT security systems and vendor services to ensure that a high level of security is maintained in the proactive protection, incident response and improvement of security services for the organization. This will include but is not limited to service level improvement, cost efficiency, customer demand management and innovation. They will drive and implement innovative solutions to proactively solve complex technical/technological challenges in order to ensure the highest level of reliability, efficiency and quality of IT Security systems service the broader organization.
The incumbent maintains systems, processes, standard operating procedures and tools for IT Security Operations, provides operational and strategic support to the capital programs with IT Security dependencies across all business functions and will be accountable for contributing towards strategic leadership initiatives, management and oversight on behalf of Security Operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, implements and monitors plans to support IT security services. Proactively identifies problems and opportunities for improvement of IT security service and systems, service level improvement, cost efficiency and customer demand management.
- Acts as hands-on Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cyber security technical controls and related issues. Ensures the monitoring, verification, renewal and quality assurance of related programs and service delivery
- Supervises and coaches a team of technical professionals to deliver timely service to internal and external clients (safety, attendance, performance and development) to support organizational IT security goals and objectives
- Ensures compliance with corporate security governance, standards and policies
- Develops operational procedures and guidelines for the organization
- Maintains and monitors the security systems, processes and tools. Provides input into the organization’s IT security strategy
- Implements IT Asset Management and Lifecycle Model to prevent obsolescence and ensure adequate reliability, performance and capacity across all IT security infrastructure domains to meet corporate and divisional key performance indicators. Provides input to the development of relevant architecture standards.
- Provides support to capital programs with IT Security dependencies across all business units.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree (major in Computer Science, Engineering or Business is preferred)
- Ten (10) years of professional experience in Information Technology and related discipline
- Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in support and improvement of IT security technologies and processes
- Five (5) years of progressive project/supervisory leadership experience
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM preferred
- Electricity or Utility experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with Perimeter and Identity Access Management security controls and end point security and protection
- Strong written, verbal communications and presentation ability

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person.
