This Jr. Security Analyst is responsible for assisting in maintaining the continuity of IT security services for all TekSynap end-users by providing the technical expertise, support, intelligence, attention to detail, and customer service to achieve timely resolutions to requests, incidents, problems, changes, and releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and respond to incidents and alerts from Microsoft 365 Defender and Azure Sentinel.
- Monitoring, updating, patching, troubleshooting, and optimizing laptop and systems.
- Maintaining local server room, network and infrastructure consisting of Cisco and Juniper network equipment.
- Remote monitoring, troubleshooting, patching/maintenance of offsite datacenter assets using RDP, Cisco AnyConnect VPN, and Azure Portal.
- Collaborating with (getting help from or providing help to) subject matter experts on the IT team.
- Configuring, maintaining, and updating images to laptops to comply with security standards.
- Managing the front line for inbound support requests to receive, triage and facilitate resolution to incidents for internal customers. Elevates when necessary.
- Maintaining an operational knowledge of the latest Microsoft 365 and Azure security features, best practices, and system/application configurations.
- Assist in the implementation of vulnerability management procedures.
- Performing steps in the IT on-boarding process for new employees.
- Assisting with development and documentation of new and existing policies, procedures and processes for IT systems and workflows, track issues via ticketing system.
- Maintain inventory database, including making corrections and entering data when necessary,.
- Generate various reports as required.
- Support organizational design and definition of change roles and responsibilities.
- Support communication efforts across the organization.
- Periodically engage vendor support personnel to achieve fixes for complex problems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Entry to Mid-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure Security concepts: Azure Sentinel configuration (Data Connectors, Logic App Playbooks, Workbooks), Power Automate, SharePoint Online, Defender ATP, Cloud App Security, Conditional Access Policies, Attack Simulations, Intune, Exchange Online administration (Mail Flow Rules, Message Trace etc.).
- Ability to understand basic KQL (Kusto Query Language) queries.
- Mid-level knowledge of server OS concepts: Active Directory account creation and maintenance, OU and Security Group management, Group Policy configuration, DNS records management, file/folder/share permissions.
- Knowledge of security best practices and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to include patience, tenacity, and follow-through in tracking, troubleshooting and bringing to resolution internal customer support requests.
- Ability to explain computer concepts/procedures/policies to non-technical internal customers; collaborate and coordinate with members of other teams to track, isolate and resolve technical issues.
- Strong task management skills, including the ability to prioritize, triage, resolve and escalate in an efficient and effective manner.
