Duties
Duty 1: Plans, analyzes, and implements procedures for the protection of installation.
Duty 2: Serves as the Integrate Defense subject matter expert.
Duty 3: Formulates local directives and coordinates resource protection and integrated defense matters within the security forces squadron and initiates meetings/interactions with tenant agencies and contractors.
Duty 4: Represents Security Forces with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three years of general experience and at least one of those years includes specialized experience equivalent to the NH-I (GS-4) grade level (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices. Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs. Knowledge in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization. Knowledge of how to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
OREDUCATION: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of a range of security forces policies, procedures, and practices; Knowledge of overall security forces missions, functions, and structure.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review independently, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems, such as overlapping and conflicting requirements within a single facility, agreements with other organizations or agencies or planning and recommending the installation of multi-layered security systems which may involve personnel access controls, physical protection devices, monitoring equipment, security forces, remote alarm equipment, and other measures.
- Knowledge of a great variety of state-of-the-art security equipment and devices in planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures.
- Knowledge of security systems, procedures, theories, and devices sufficient to consider and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations.
- Knowledge of risk factors applicable to all types of resource protection vulnerabilities to perform effective risk assessments and physical security and resource protection surveys; Knowledge of electronic security system requirements, testing criteria, and documentation.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
