Position Overview:
Seeking a seasoned Security Analyst with a strong background in IT security and Epic system implementations to take ownership of security provisioning, end-user records management, and onboarding/offboarding workflows. The ideal candidate will bring over 7 years of security experience, including at least 2 years working specifically with Epic from a security perspective. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, safeguarding data, and supporting seamless operations during and after Epic implementations.
MUST HAVE:
- 7+ years of professional experience in IT security, with at least 2 years focused on Epic security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Epic Security Provisioning:
- Lead the provisioning process for Epic systems, ensuring accurate role-based access control (RBAC).
- Enforce compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards during provisioning.
- End-User Records Management:
- Maintain and update end-user records within the Epic environment to ensure accurate access and role assignments.
- Conduct regular audits of user records to identify and address discrepancies or security risks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve access issues in collaboration with Epic application teams.
- Onboarding and Offboarding:
- Design and execute workflows for onboarding and offboarding users within the Epic system.
- Coordinate with HR, IT, and Epic teams to ensure timely provisioning and de-provisioning of user access.
- Document and refine processes to align with industry best practices.
- Security and Compliance Oversight:
- Perform ongoing audits of user permissions to maintain alignment with security policies and regulatory standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST.
- Stay informed of Epic system updates and recommend security improvements accordingly.
- Support internal and external audits related to Epic security.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Epic application teams, IT security, and operational departments to align security practices with organizational needs.
- Provide training and mentorship to end-users and junior team members regarding security best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 7+ years of professional experience in IT security, with at least 2 years focused on Epic security.
- Proven track record of managing security provisioning, end-user records, and onboarding/offboarding workflows in healthcare or similar regulated environments.
- Certifications:
- Epic Security Coordinator certification preferred.
- Additional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Expertise in Epic system security, including RBAC and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
