About the Role
As the Security Analyst at Raptor Technologies, you will report directly to the Director of Information Security and act as the subject matter expert for security operations for the business. You will play a critical role in safeguarding Raptor Technologies' information assets and infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the MDR function in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents from multiple sources but primarily Azure Sentinel.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the MDR function, providing direction, guidance, and support in monitoring and responding to security incidents.
- Develop SOC processes, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and effective incident detection, analysis, and response.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures to facilitate rapid and effective incident handling and resolution.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners respond to security incidents in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, investigate potential security incidents, and escalate as necessary for further analysis and response.
- Coordinate with IT and other departments to implement security controls, patches, and updates based on threat intelligence and risk assessments.
- Generate and analyze security reports and metrics to assess the effectiveness of security operations and communicate key findings to stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging threats, security technologies, and industry trends to enhance SOC capabilities and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are a plus
- 3+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or related roles, preferably in a SOC environment
- Experience in a SOC team and working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and third-party vendors is advantageous
- Strong technical expertise in security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms
- Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR)
- Proven track record in incident response, including handling security incidents, conducting forensic investigations, and coordinating with external parties
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
