Oakridge has been engaged to identify a Senior CyberSecurity Analyst of a solid, yet newly forming Security team of a local hedge fund.
The Senior CyberSecurity Analyst is responsible for protecting an organization's computer systems, networks, and sensitive data by monitoring for security vulnerabilities, analyzing security risks, and implementing appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks.
Key Responsibilities:
Threat Detection and Monitoring:
- Monitor network traffic, logs, and alerts for suspicious activity.
- Identify and respond to security incidents, malware, phishing, and intrusion attempts.
Incident Response:
- Investigate security breaches and document their impact.
- Coordinate with internal teams to mitigate and recover from incidents.
Vulnerability Assessment:
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests.
- Recommend solutions to address identified vulnerabilities.
System Hardening:
- Implement firewalls, encryption protocols, and other security controls.
- Monitor and manage endpoint protection systems.
Deception Techniques:
- Honeynets: Deploy fake networks to attract attackers, gather intel, and understand their methods.
Thwarting Techniques:
- Intrusion Prevention: Stop unauthorized traffic before it enters critical networks using IPS or advanced firewalls.
Security Policies and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
- Assist in developing and updating security policies, standards, and guidelines.
